Your first stop is the Texas Capital for a self-guided tour. Home to the government for the state of Texas, this Italian Renaissance Revival style building constructed between 1882 and 1888 sits atop a hill overlooking downtown Austin. As you walk around the grounds, you’ll visit the statues and monuments such as the Confederate Soldiers Monument, the Heroes of the Alamo, the Volunteer Firemen Monument, and others along the tree-lined Great Walk.
Next, you'll visit some of the famous murals in Austin, including the "Greetings from Austin" mural and the "I love you so much" mural. These colorful, vibrant murals have become iconic symbols of the city.
