A ghostly Charleston tour perfect for history buffs, paranormal fans, and families.
Charleston has played an integral part in the events leading to the founding of America. The Ghosts of Liberty Tour is dedicated to the men and women who sacrificed their lives in defense of freedom and America. You'll hear about these people, the events, and their ghosts.
Your spooky adventure begins with meeting your guide in the heart of Charleston’s Historic District. As they lead you through the streets of Charleston, they’ll recount the unique ghost stories that make this city one of the most haunted cities in America … get ready for restless spirits, battles, and so much more!
A few of the possible spooky stops along the tour:
- Dock Street Theatre: Theatregoers have claimed to see ghosts roaming about in the rafters and on the stage. The most frequently appearing of them is Nettie, seen gliding aimlessly throughout the theatre.
- Powder Magazine: One of few surviving structures from the colonial period, the Powder Magazine is also one of the smallest haunted buildings in Charleston. From Indian wars and Spanish threats to French invasion and colonist insurrection, the Powder Magazine has seen its share of heinous experiences. Some say there are those who fought, died, and never left.
- Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon: From its elegant Georgian appearance to the deeply troubled and haunted basement beneath the street level, the Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon is one of the most recognized historical landmarks in Charleston, South Carolina. Spirits are said to roam its stately halls, and the distressing cries of long-dead prisoners in the dungeon can still be heard.
