Jacksonville Zombie Scavenger Hunt

Zombies outnumber the living and small colonies of the living are competing to survive. This interactive scavenger hunt game will have you and your team of up to 10 people exploring downtown Jacksonville while avoiding zombies and looking for items needed to survive the zombie apocalypse. The more items you find, the more points you’ll get and the greater the chances of survival.

Using an app on your smartphone, you’ll begin your adventure at Hemming Plaza. You’ll receive a list of items you need to find (food, bandages, vehicles, necessities, and more), along with zombie themed challenges to perform for additional rewards points. You’ll have one hour to find as many survival items as you can and take a picture through the app.

It won't be easy! Rival colonies are roaming around, and they will steal what you worked hard to find if you are not careful … plus … zombies are everywhere.

How it works:

• Registration instructions will be provided to you once you have activated your Breakaway Experiences' certificate.
• When you are ready to play, you’ll register with the experience provider and download the app called "GooseChase" onto your smartphone.
• You’ll go to your starting location outside Hemming Plaza on the day / time you want to play. Follow the directions provided to you in the Zombie Scavenger app.
• You'll be given the list of items to find on the app. You can search for these survival items in any order you would like.
• Once you find an item, take a picture to show you found it.
• You are not required to buy anything during the scavenger hunt.
• The more items you find, the more points you earn and increase your odds of survival.
• During the game, a remote guide / host will be following your progress via the App. Via the chat feature in the app, the remote host can help you if you need assistance.

• 1 hour

• Zombie Scavenger Hunt customer support hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 9am - 5pm.
• If you prefer, you can play anytime, outside the customer support hours.

• You can have up to 10 people on a team. The optimum group size is between 4 and 6 people.
• If you are playing in a larger group, you can divide into teams and play against each other to see who finds all the survival items first! You can put the scavenger hunt app on as many phones as you'd like.
• The game is played all outdoors in public spaces.
• Nobody will be physically there with you during the game, dressed as Zombies. Everything is done through your smartphone.
• To play the game you will need an iOS or Android Smartphone with a data plan.
• The experience is wheelchair accessible. It is an open scavenger hunt, where you can explore the city on your own terms. There is no specific route, therefore you don’t have to go anywhere that is not wheelchair accessible, nor will you be asked to find anything that could not be accessible in a wheelchair.
