Sacramento Zombie Scavenger Hunt

You are part of a small group of survivors struggling to survive. Zombies vastly outnumber the living. Using your smartphone, you and your team will explore downtown Sacramento, searching for desperately needed survival items.

The Zombie Scavenger Hunt's dedicated app will give you a list of items you need to find to survive a zombie apocalypse. You will have 60-minutes to find and take pictures of items such as food, vehicles, bandages, necessities, and more. The more items you find, the more points you’ll earn to increase your chances of surviving the apocalypse. Along the way, you’ll perform zombie style challenges and answer trivia questions to be rewarded even more points.

During your apocalyptic game, you’ll be in communication with a remote game host via chat in the app. They are there to answer any questions you have. As you are playing, you will be able to see the points of other survival teams across the country on the app.

This unique and fun, app led scavenger hunt game puts a new variation on sightseeing, introducing you and your friends to places in Sacramento you may not have known about.

How it works:

• Registration instructions will be provided to you once you have activated your Breakaway Experiences' certificate.
• When you are ready to play, you’ll register with the experience provider and download the app called "GooseChase" onto your smartphone.
• You’ll go to your starting location at Pony Express Monument on the day / time you want to play. Follow the directions provided to you in the Zombie Scavenger app.
• You'll be given a list of items such as bandages, vehicles, food, necessities, and more on the app. Locate these survival items in any order you'd like.
• Once you locate an item, you’ll take a picture to prove you found it. You are not required to purchase anything during the scavenger hunt.
• The more items you find, the more points you earn and increase your odds of survival.
• Along the way, you will be asked to do answer some trivia questions and do some zombie style challenges for which you will be rewarded points.
• You won’t be alone. During the game, a remote guide / host will be following your progress via the App. Via the chat feature in the app, the remote host can help you in case you need anything.

• Zombie Scavenger Hunt customer support hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 9am - 5pm. If you prefer, you can play anytime, outside the customer support hours.

• You can have up to 10 people on a team. The optimum group size is between 4 and 6 people.
• If you are playing in a larger group, you can divide into teams and play against each other to see who finds all the survival items first! You can put the scavenger hunt app on as many phones as you'd like.
• The game is played all outdoors in public spaces.
• Nobody will be physically there with you during the game, dressed as Zombies. Everything is done through your smartphone.
• To play the game you will need an iOS or Android Smartphone with data plan.
• The experience is wheelchair accessible. It is an open scavenger hunt, where you can explore the city on your own terms. There is no specific route, therefore you don’t have to go anywhere that is not wheelchair accessible, nor will you be asked to find anything that could not be accessible in a wheelchair.
